Okay what are the two different particle in a box models and how would I find the wavelength of 1,1'-diethyl-4,4'-cyanine iodide, carbocyanine iodide, and dicarbocyanine iodide. Particularly how do I find L?

I am sooo confused by you. L is a variable, which stand for the theoretical length of the theoretical box which in reality is the length of a molecule, i.e. the three I listed.

The pronunciation of the name of the letter in modern Greek sounds in English like "eep-silon" (in contrast to the letter Ε, which is pronounced "epp-silon"). It is also called "Ypsilon" (ipp-silon) due to its resemblence to the Roman letter Y.

I just noticed that I preceded the 'S' with "an", and the 'K' with "a", because the first sound 'S' makes when it is pronounced is a vowel sound, but the 'K' starts with a consonent sound.

how old can you be that you're Kryz'z friend and taking nine years of upsidedownlatin?
Switty
10-16-2006, 10:34 AM
EUREKA! For all who have been waiting on the edges of their seats for the answer to my query, I have figured it out! L is the number of bonds between the two nitrogen atoms in each C23H23N2I, C25H25N2I, and C27H27N2I. The point where Model A and Model B of the particle in a box theory differs is in either counting only those bonds between the two nitrogen atoms or counting the bonds that immediatately follow as well, extending L by two. So you get two different answers! (and I never figured out the carbon issue but I found a way around that)
