Taking fire...need assistance!

How the fuck do I convert from polar form to "a + bi" form in the complex plane?

According to the broad view, TODO posted in this thread already. Odd.

Of course! He deleted it! His standards are so high...

Just use your basic trig. a is the magnitude right the y axis. b is the magnitude above the x axis.

Of course! He deleted it! His standards are so high...I misread the question. My first answer was getting from complex to polar.

Can you do an example for me?

2(cis pi/6) ?

what the shit is cis

what the shit is cis
cos x + i*sin x == cis x

It's shorthand, but both the book and my teacher claim it's fair game.

Holy fuck I'm stupid. I think I've got it figured out, but I'm waiting on TOD02's reply.

This is still different than how I learned polar coordinates but to me, this looks like a + bi:

2cos(pi/6) + 2sin(pi/6)i
