Sounds great, but what it really comes down to is grind your way to max lvl doing the same stuff over and over again. Then go on raids or pvp battles which will also be the same boring thing over and over.

number of people crying because their ship was stolen from them: immense

it'll be like taking a cruise in WoW and pwning the guys that get on board. ten rogues in stealth waiting for a bunch of people to hop on the ship and then pwning them as soon as the boat leaves the dock was good times.

Yeah, except doing the same stuff over and over CAN be fun.

get an armada of ships going and lay waste to a town, not a bad idea, and i can see it being fun.

It's a trap, I thought I liked EQ2 and had fun playing it. But really it's just a giant timesink that makes you feel like you accomplish great things by spending hours and hours on it. I'll go through it a few times to get to know the whole game, then it's all about collecting items in the most effecient way possible. In my free time (pretty much 90% of all my time) I'll play my own characters to stay in touch with the community.
