Decent movie with Joaquin Phoenix and Vince Vaughn. Thre American friends hang out in Malaysia and enjoy the fine women and extremely cheap and plentiful hash. Two of them leave(vince vaughn and some other guy) and Phoenix stays behind before he heads to Borneo for greenpeace work. Two years pass and we find out that the police raided the hut the day the two friends left and discovered massive quantities of leftover hash. Phoenix takes the full share of the blame and the totalled amount is over the limit for Malaysian law of possession, so he's convicted with trafficking. The punishment for which is death.

Vaughn have and the friend have three choices: both go and they serve 3 years each in a 3rd world prison and phoenix lives, one goes serves six and phoenix lives, or neither go and he dies.

Despite how much it sucks that a friend dies, I honestly think I would die of health problems if I had to live in a 3rd world prison. (I doubt they refill inhaler prescriptions). I want to say that I would go, but I'm not going to lie. Screw that poor man and screw malaysian prisons.

You really shouldn't be smoking if you have to use an inhaler.

The moral question still stands, replace hash with rum/whatever crime you want.

Assuming this is a friend, and not some aquaintance that just took the blame for the hell of it, not knowing wtf he was getting into. If THAT were the case, I'd hire the best attorneys and press agents I could, but fuck serving time.

Yeah the lack of inhaler perscription really makes me not want to go to a third world prison, too.
