Downtown St. Louis
Fenton - Kirkwood
Forest Park & Clayton
Hazelwood
Saint Charles - Saint Peters
St. Louis South
St. Louis West - Chesterfield
Westport

Also, places to go/things to see would be appreciated!

Anyway downtown st. louis is going to be expensive as fuck unless you're in the ghetto. Definitely don't stay in clayton. Chesterfield is nice and saint peters is probably pretty nice. Fenton is a nice area but their's not a whole lot around other than shopping and the like.

Go to the arch, union station stuff like that... their's some interesting stuff downtown if you look around.

Or screw it and go to six flags st. louis! But the arch is pretty cool except for the loooong wait. The journey up is pretty cool as well.

That was gonna be my answer. Fuck STL, I'll never go back. We had to stop for gas at 2 am, and I thought we were seriously going to die.

Oh hell, I'll tell the story.

I flew out to Sacramento to help a friend drive back to Florida, so we switched on and off driving. I wake up at 2 am one night, and Mike is like hanging over the steering wheel sweating profusely, so I say, "what the hell dude, you ok?" and his reply is "Man, I don't know how I forgot, but we're out of gas!"

"How the fuck" was the first thought in my head. Anyway.. So we're on this stretch of highway, and I see the arch ahead and to the left side of us.. probably like 10 miles away. At this point, I have some illusion that if you can see the arch, you're in a good area of STL.

So we pull off the first exit we see, since we see ZERO gas stations ahead. The road we pulled off onto might have been the darkest road ever. The scene in the first Matrix comes to mind, when he's about to get out of the car. So ahead we see this blinking yellow light for a T stop. Mike says, "pick a direction dude, I'm nervous." So I pick right.

We get to the T stop.

We look right.

There's a house with a cop car outside.

On fire.

The cop car, not the house. So we proceed to turn left as quick as possible. Not the best choice either. I think up would have been optimal. We turn left and there's like 10 homeless black dudes scattered around the street, and one of those oil cans that people huddle around for warmth. Then I notice this HUGE, like Michael Clarke Duncan sized black dude walking right at us with a huge iron pipe and a look on his face of "2 white dudes, comin right up."

He gets to the car, and I say "This is where the car dies, along with us.." and the black dude gets right up to us, then walks around the car, and keeps walking toward some dude behind our car. We speed the fuck off, knowing full well someone was about to die behind us.

So we speed around a corner, and a shining beacon of light is ahead, a Clark's gas station! Woot!

Aaaaand it has about 8 low riders all around it. We pull up, and they all pull away. Great, setting up an ambush is what I'm thinking. I go up to the window, which is about 3 inches of plexiglass, and the dude behind it is laughing his ass off looking at me. A cop car slowly goes by, and all I can think is the cops are saying, "We'll be right back when we get the call on your shooting!"

But, we got away unscathed. Definitely the scariest night ever. Sorry it was so long of a story!

The area around the arch isn't bad at all, but the area outside of that area is horrible.
