Ron Paul has a lot of grassroots support. I've had 4 people come up to me trying to personally sell me on voting for Ron Paul and I see flyers for Ron Paul all over this state. In the past few weeks I've been in the panhandle, Orlando and Miami which is a good representation of north, central and south florida...everywhere I go I see support for Ron Paul. no other candidate.

I'm beginning to have a glimmer of hope for Ron Paul.

He has more of the vote than Clinton, Carter, and several other past presidents did at this stage in the election.

Being ahead of McCain in money means fucking nothing. Howard Dean had a whole shit-load of GRASSROOTS money early on, and that didn't turn out very well. He has 0% chance of winning the primary, but I do agree that if he somehow manages to take it, he'll have a very good shot at winning the actual election

Like I said, several past presidents, including Bill Clinton, pulled ahead from less early support. Also, Howard Dean didn't turn out well because BYEYEEEAAAAHHHHHHH.

I think Ron Paul would get it before Fred Thompson, and I would not feel good about a man who says we should "double Guantanamo."

How you can you feel dirty voting for either Edwards or Obama, in my opinion the two best candidates, when the alternative, excluding Paul, is so shitty? Do we really want a shitty mayor or a flip-floppy Mormon as our Chief Executive? I'd much rather take the great speaking wishy-washy black man or the great speaking sensible Southerner.

And also, you can't underestimate the fact that if Obama or Edwards wins, well, they're going to have the full support of their party, which, let's be honest, is pretty fucked up, but is in favor of a lot more COMMON SENSE than the other guys. Whereas Paul will be hated by his party from Day 1, and will end up getting nothing done because he won't be able to appease his Democratic majority OR his Republican minority

well, i think its fair to say that if paul was elected pres he wouldnt be hated by his party, if anything itd force the republican party to draw closer to pauls ideals as it would obviously better represent the opinions of their base.

Obama is a big-government protectionist with no experience and nothing more going for him than being hip and apparently very hopeful. Edwards has openly socialist economic ideas (i.e. he has no idea what the fuck he's talking about) and... you know, they're both economically retarded. We'll leave it at that.

The absolute last thing this country needs right now is a protectionist president. You can say that the Great Depression was caused by a number of things, but that's untrue. It was an unremarkable set of circumstances with one driving factor: the Smoot-Hawley tariff, meant to protect American industries from foreign competition. Stocks fell all throughout its approach, then jumped by 50% overnight when it looked like it was sidetracked. Then it was passed and the rest is history. Our economy right now has the same sort of conditions to make it vulnerable to closing our trade borders, and serious recession if not a depression is a very real possibility with protectionist measures. We need to be moving back towards a free market, what historically works, not protective socialism.

Also anyone who says our health care system needs to be like Canada's is absolutely batshit fucking retarded.
