The first half being that I do indeed detest the consumption of alcohol with the intent of getting drunk, and the second half being that I will consume alcohol without that intent but will inevitably reach that intent.

I find it hilarious to be around mature adults getting drunk. I hate being around obnoxious teenagers getting drunk because they think getting drunk makes them an adult. There's a big difference.
