I have a phobia of calling people.

I have to call this chick Erin, because I listed her as a reference in a recent job application. She works under my dad (or used too, I can't remember) and is a pretty cool person. However, I am just too scared to call, for whatever reason my mind wants to make up. It isn't like I haven't called people before, I have a gf that I talk with on the phone everyday. And its not like "ohhh, shes a chick," since she is like 25 and - oops, I have to go, dinner.

I have the same sort of problem. I do, however, use a method my theropist recomended. It's called growing some balls and just calling.

I'm actually intimidated by the phone also. I thought I was the only one. I'd much rather go meet somebody in person than call them. For example it is easier for me to actually go to places I've turned in applications to do follow-ups than it is for me to call them. I just hate the phone.

I HATE the phone. I either prefer e-mail, snail mail, or face-to-face, rather than call someone. I usually have little problem calling friends and family, but even then, I have been known to break out in a cold sweat prior to calling them. Usually I just bite the bullet and do it, but not without a bit of panic, or procrastination.

My phone serves one purpose: To give me internet. people occasionally leave messages on the voicemail though, to which I usually reply.

amazingly, i only started using the phone when i thought it might get me somewhere with this girl i was interested in.

I'm always like "Shit, what am I gunna say?" and so on. Until I end up not calling. It causes problems in my life.

I have the same thing. I always think what if they don't want to talk right now, or they're busy. That's why I prefer AIM, if they're online, they're available for talky talky.

The only time I'm ok on the phone is to call a friend to meet somewhere. There is no pressure there for me, and it's only for a few minutes.
